Business establishments closed,public transport suspended for five days due to COVID-19 imposed restrictions

All business establishments, transport services remained closed as the district administration imposed restrictions in Budgam district due to a steep rise in COVID-19 cases in the valley. Therefore to prevent the spread of virus the local administration imposed restrictions on Thursday, officials said. The order was issued on Wednesday evening by the  Budgam district administration. According to the order the restrictions have been imposed under section 144 cr Pc and section 34 of the Disaster Management Act for five days in the district.

District Magistrate, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza issued a circulation citing that all shops, business establishments falling within the peripheries of Char-i-Sharief, Chadoora, Magam, Narbal, Beerwah, Chattergam, Nagam, Khansahib need to be closed from 16th to 20th of this month.

Mirza also ordered that public transportation won’t be allowed to run during these days. Only authorized private vehicles are being allowed to ply on the roads.

As per Chief Medical officer Budgam, the active Coronavirus cases in the district mounted to 282 with 15 deaths and 331 recovery cases. CMO Budgam, Dr. Tajamul Hussain Khan confirmed to Greater Kashmir that there are 37 red zones in the district.
