Controversy hits JEs transfer order in PWD

Srinagar, July 31: Controversy has gripped transfer and posting orders of junior engineers issued by the Chief Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Department on July 11, 2019. Even as the order states that the JEs transferred in the said order deem to have been relieved from the present place of posting, a group of JEs figuring in the said order have not joined their new place of postings, alleged a delegation of such engineers who were not allowed to stay after their transfer order was issued.

The delegation alleged that the higher-ups in the department have their own blue-eyed persons and have been selective in relieving the official. This correspondent talked to the higher-ups of the department and asked the reason for retaining a selective group of JEs at their present place of posting who otherwise were transferred

.“Yes, we have issued the order and the JEs figuring in the said order stand relieved and have to necessarily join at their new place of postings. But there are some JEs who are yet to be relieved as they have some salary issue. I assure you they too will get relieved once their salary issue is resolved by the end of this month, the competent authority in the department said.

It’s worth mentioning that the delegation rejected this plea and alleged that under the table deals have taken place to prevent relieving of the JEs who have not been relieved.
