Anti-Corruption Judge gets additional charge of Principal District & Sessions Court, Jammu

Arrangement made following superannuation of Principal District & Sessions Judge RN Wattal; additional charge to continue till regular appointment

Jammu: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has made an interim judicial arrangement for the Court of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, following the superannuation of Shri R. N. Wattal on August 31, 2026.

According to an order issued by the Office of the Registrar General, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu has been assigned the additional charge of the Court of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu.The arrangement has been made in view of the superannuation of Shri R. N. Wattal, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, who retired from service on August 31, 2026 (afternoon).

The High Court order states that the Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Jammu shall hold the additional charge of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, until the post is filled up on a regular basis.The order was issued by the Registrar General of the High Court and communicated to the concerned authorities and judicial officers for information and necessary action.

Copies of the order have also been forwarded to the Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Secretary to the Administrative Judge, District Jammu, the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, the Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu, the Incharge NIC, High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Jammu, and the Incharge Library, High Court Wing Jammu.

The temporary arrangement is intended to ensure continuity in the functioning of the Principal District & Sessions Judge Court, Jammu and prevent any disruption in judicial and administrative proceedings until a regular appointment is made to the post.
