Eight dead,seven injured in ‘ Peer Ki Gali’ mishap
Srinagar: : At least eight persons are feared to be dead and seven others injured in a road accident in Peer Ki Gali area on the historic Mughal road in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday. A police official said a tempo on way to Shopian from Poonch skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Lal Ghulam area, resulting into death of two persons and injuries to ten more.Sources said more people are feared to be dead in the mishap .Sources said 15 people from a computer institute from Surankote area of Poonch were traveling in a tempo for an excursion.However, the vehicle fell into a deep gorge near Peer Ki Gali,while as the rescue operation has been launched in the area.Reports said that six injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Shopian.Deputy Commissioner Shopian Ovais Ahmad also confirmed the incident and said that injured persons have been hospitalized .
