International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking held at SMHS Srinagar

Srinagar : A program Regarding International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was held by the Department of Psychiatry, G. M.C Srinagar in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Control Society at the General Health Community Centre SMHS.

Prof Mohd. Maqbool H. O.D welcomed the guests and presented a welcome Address.

Principal GMC was the chief guest and Deputy Director Blood Transfusion Services,  JKSACS was guest of honor.

Principal GMC Dr. Kaiser highlighted the role of social and religious teachings to eradicate the menace of Drugs from society.

Dr. Yasir Hassan gave the presentation on an overview of substance abuse and highlighted its preventive measures.

Dr sanjeet kour stressed upon the Rise in opioid use. While as Lawyer CNC,  Syed Mujtaba highlighted the role of criminal justice responses, social reintegration, the legal and societal stigma which continues to be associated with drug use and dependence.

On the occasion Students of Bibi Haleema College of Nursing and Alamdar College of Nursing IUST, Ms Zoya Mphil student and Shabnam Rashid sr.  Nurse performed the Activities with the theme of Program Drug Abuse.

Dr. Aaliya and Fatima MPhil student coordinated the program.

The program was concluded with a vote of thanks given by Javaid Jeelani,  Counselor OST IMHANS-K.
