Senior KAS Officer Romeen Sheikh Dies of Cardiac Arrest in Jammu
Jammu, June 25: Senior Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officer Romeen Sheikh, currently serving as Joint Director, Handloom Department, Kashmir Division, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in the Bathindi area of Jammu on Thursday.
A 2004-batch KAS officer, Sheikh hailed from Salian village in Surankote, Poonch district, and was widely regarded for his administrative service and dedication. According to officials, he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at his residence, resulting in his untimely demise.
Police have completed the necessary legal formalities following the incident.
Family members said that the Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered at 6:00 p.m. in Bathindi, Jammu, after which he will be laid to rest.
The news of Sheikh’s passing has evoked grief across administrative and public circles in Jammu and Kashmir. Colleagues, officials and well-wishers have expressed condolences, remembering him as a committed officer and praying for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family during this difficult time.
