Iran’s Larijani Rejects Reports of Renewed US Nuclear Talks
Tehran, March 2: Iran’s senior security official Ali Larijani has dismissed reports suggesting that Tehran made a fresh push to resume nuclear negotiations with the United States, amid escalating tensions in the region.
Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, rejected claims carried by sections of the US media that Iran had sought to restart dialogue with Washington through intermediaries. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), he said Iran would not engage in negotiations with the United States under the current circumstances.
The remarks come as hostilities intensify following recent military confrontations involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Diplomatic channels appear stalled as both sides exchange accusations and military pressure continues to mount across the region.
