BOPEE Schedules Physical Counselling for 50 Supernumerary MBBS Seats on Jan 24
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) will conduct physical counselling on January 24 for the allotment of 50 supernumerary MBBS seats in newly established government medical colleges of the Union Territory, officials said on Thursday.
The counselling process will commence at 10 am and will be held among 50 shortlisted candidates of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME). Seat allocation will be carried out on the basis of merit-cum-preference, the officials said.
They added that the supernumerary seats have been created in accordance with the directions of the National Medical Commission (NMC) and will be distributed across seven new government medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir.
The entire counselling process is expected to be completed on the same day, and all selected candidates will be allotted seats during the session.
BOPEE has already issued a detailed notification in this regard through Notification No. 015 of 2026 dated January 21, 2026, which has been uploaded on the official website of the board.
Officials further said that all eligible candidates have been informed about the counselling schedule through various modes of communication and have been advised to visit the BOPEE website for further updates and details.
