Anantnag Police arrest two drug traffickers, recover 65 grams heroin
Anantnag Police achieved a significant breakthrough in its अभियान against drug trafficking by apprehending two individuals along with a substantial quantity of contraband. Acting on specific and credible information, a police team intercepted two suspects at the Harnag–Bategoo bypass. During the search, heroin-like contraband substance weighing approximately 65 grams was recovered from their possession.The accused have been identified as Bhupinder Singh, son of Chanan Singh, resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, and Balbir Chand, son of Kishan Chand, resident of Dinagarh, Gurdaspur. Both individuals were arrested on the spot, and the recovered contraband was seized in accordance with due legal procedures.In this regard, FIR No. 265/2025 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag, and further investigation is underway.Anantnag Police reaffirm their commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeal to the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug abuse or trafficking, assuring that such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
