Sopore Police organises awareness-cum-quiz programme on new criminal laws
Sopore Police today organised an awareness-cum-quiz programme on the New Criminal Laws (NCL) at Netherfield Public School, Sopore. The initiative aimed at educating students about the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, which replace the IPC, CrPC, and Indian Evidence Act respectively.
Students enthusiastically participated in the interactive quiz, testing their knowledge and understanding of the new legal framework. The programme also featured awareness sessions where officers highlighted the rights, responsibilities, and major reforms introduced in the new criminal laws.The objective was to empower youth with legal literacy, nurture responsible citizenship, and promote awareness of justice and accountability under the new system.Sopore Police reaffirmed its commitment to spreading awareness, building trust with the younger generation, and fostering a law-abiding and informed society.
