“We Trust the Supreme Court to Restore Constitutional Guarantees,” Says NC’s Imran Shah Ahead of Statehood Hearing
Anantnag, Aug 13: National Conference (NC) received a boost in its grassroots strength as several workers from the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) formally joined the party in Anantnag district.
The joining took place during a well-attended workers’ meeting at Gulistan Colony, Kawarigam, in the Anantnag constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, NC Vice President Anantnag Imran Amin Shah reaffirmed the party’s unwavering faith in the Supreme Court of India, expressing confidence that justice will be delivered in the matter concerning the abrogation of Article 370.
“We trust the Supreme Court to uphold justice. The case is listed for hearing on August 14, and we hope that the constitutional guarantees given to the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be honoured,” Shah said.
The meeting, attended by party workers and local residents, also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Panchayat elections across Jammu and Kashmir.
Imran Shah urged the party cadre to intensify public outreach and strengthen organisational work at the village and block levels, terming the Panchayat elections a vital democratic exercise for grassroots empowerment.
Welcoming the new entrants from DPAP, Shah said their decision reflected the growing trust in NC’s policies and vision for Jammu and Kashmir’s future. He assured them of full support and called for collective efforts to take the party’s message to every household.
The meeting concluded with a pledge by workers to remain united and committed to safeguarding the rights, identity, and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
