Youm-e-Ashura: LG Sinha Attends Zuljanah Procession in Sgr, Distributes Water to Mourners

Top officials including IGP Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, and DC Srinagar present at the event

Srinagar, July 6: On the solemn occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, observed on the 10th of Muharram, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Botakadal in Srinagar on Sunday morning to participate in the Zuljanah procession.

The Lieutenant Governor joined mourners by distributing water and refreshments, paying homage to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in the historic battle of Karbala.

Accompanied by senior officials including IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, SSP Srinagar, and other top police officers, LG Sinha also offered a sacred chaddar to Zuljanah before the procession began, marking his respect and solidarity on the occasion.

Similar processions are being held across the Kashmir Valley to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), with authorities ensuring proper arrangements and security for the mourners.6
