Absence of NC Sopore Unit Fuels Speculation of Political Realignment
Srinagar, June 20: A recent address by Srinagar MP and senior National Conference leader Aga Syed Ruhullah has sparked fresh speculation about a potential political shift, as he hinted at launching a new platform centered on “credibility” and “accountability.”
Speaking at an event held at Dak Bungalow Sopore, Ruhullah stated, “I am looking for those people who will walk with me, bringing accountability to the system, those who will stand for credibility.”
While he stopped short of formally announcing the formation of a new political party, his carefully chosen words and the setting of the event strongly suggested groundwork for an independent political initiative, separate from the current party framework.
Notably, no representatives of the National Conference’s Sopore unit were present during the meeting — a glaring absence that has further fueled speculation about internal discord within the party.
Local sources confirmed that the event was organized independently, without the participation of the regional NC leadership, adding to signs of a growing divide between Ruhullah and the party high command.
