Trump announces India, Pakistan have agreed to end conflict

Trump claims India Pak ceasefire: US President Donald Trump congratulated "both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence," in a post on Truth Social.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday claimed that India and Pakistan have agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire. Taking to Truth Social, Trump posted: “After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Minutes after his post, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said: “Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity!”

A briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs is slated for 6 pm this evening, where further clarity is expected.
