Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal; Contraband substance recovered
Ganderbal, April 12: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs and its propagators, Police in Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Kangan at a checkpoint established at kachnambal Crossing intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing the Police Party, tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by alert police party.
During his personal search, contraband charas like substance was recovered and seized. He has been identified as Shareef-ud-Din Chechi son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Chechi resident of Chattergul Bala. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 27/2025, under relevant Sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation has been taken up.
Police urge the common masses to share information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112. General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
