Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Delivers Sermon on Nafs and Self-Purification at Masjid Rehmat, Lal Bazar
Addressing the gathering, Mirwaiz emphasized that Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and seeking Allah’s mercy. He explained the different states of Nafs—Nafs-e-Ammarah (the commanding self), Nafs-e-Lawwama (the self-reproaching self), and Nafs-e-Mutmainnah (the contented self)—urging people to strive for self-purification through taqwa (God-consciousness), prayer, and repentance.
Mirwaiz said that controlling one’s desires and ego in the light of the Quran and Sunnah leads to inner peace and closeness to the Almighty. He urged the faithful to utilize this blessed month for introspection, repentance, and strengthening their relationship with Allah.
A large number of devotees attended the sermon, seeking guidance on self-improvement and spiritual elevation during this sacred month.
Meanwhile, in connection with Youm-ul-Badr and the death anniversary of Mujajir-e-Millat Mufasir-e-Quran Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah (RA), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliver a sermon at the historic Aali Masjid, Eidgah, tomorrow before asr prayers.
