8-Month-Old In Bengaluru Tests HMPV Positive, First Case In India
An eight-month-old child in Bengaluru has tested positive for the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), making it the first case in India amid a surge in such cases in China.
The child was receiving treatment at a private hospital in the city.
According to the details, the child does not have any travel history.
The case was confirmed by the Karnataka Health Department, which said medical tests of the child turned out to be positive.
The case was conveyed to the Union Health Ministry, the Department said.
