J&K Govt Reconstitutes Technical Appraisal Committee for Vehicle Tracking Project
Srinagar, Dec 10: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has reconstituted the Technical Appraisal Committee (TAC) for the ambitious “Project for Vehicle Location Tracking and Emergency Alert System.” This restructuring, announced through Government Order No. 2062-JK(GAD) of 2024, appoints Mr. Ashag Hussain Dar, Director In-charge of NIELIT, as the new Chairman of the TAC, replacing Shameem Khan.
This decision, signed by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Sanjeev Verma, IAS, emphasizes the administration’s commitment to streamlining the oversight and implementation of critical technological projects. The project is aimed at enhancing vehicle tracking and emergency response mechanisms across the region, aligning with modern safety and technology standards.
The order was issued in partial modification of the earlier Government Order No. 711-JK(GAD) of 2023, dated June 19, 2023. The revised committee structure is expected to ensure better coordination and efficiency in the project’s execution.
The “Project for Vehicle Location Tracking and Emergency Alert System” represents a significant step towards improving public safety and transportation infrastructure. The reconstitution of the TAC is a strategic move to achieve the project’s objectives more effectively.
