Srinagar, Dec 08: Former MLA from Wachi (now Zainapora), Aijaz Ahmad Mir, today declared that he would intensify his efforts to highlight the grievances of the people. Mir, while addressing a gathering in Wachi, remarked, “Until now, I was using an AK-47, but from now on, I will use an LMG against the government to bring people’s issues to the forefront.”

The remark, though metaphorical, was meant to symbolize his commitment to adopting a more assertive approach in addressing the problems faced by the public. Mir explained, “The overwhelming support I have received from the people has boosted my morale. I am ready to fight for your rights, no matter the odds. If I was earlier using AK-47, now I will use LMG against the government to highlight people’s issues,” he said.

Mir alleged that the NC MLA Showkat Ganaie was pressuring the Officials to do the works of NC workers only terming it unfortunate. “He said he would hit the streets if needed if any kind of ill-treatment was meted out to nonNC supporters.

The former MLA emphasized key issues affecting the region, such as unemployment, lack of infrastructure development, and rising costs of living. “Our demands have been ignored for far too long. It’s time for stronger measures to make the government listen,” he said.

In today’s address, he urged the people to remain united and promised to continue his mission of fighting for justice and development in Wachi.

Local residents, who attended the gathering in large numbers, lauded Mir’s determination and pledged their support. “We feel someone is finally taking our issues seriously,” said a resident of Wachi.
