BJP MLA Randhawa Warns of Protests in Jammu if Lecturer Posts for Hindi, Sanskrit PGs Not Advertised

Srinagar, Nov 21 : Senior BJP leader and MLA Vikram Randhawa staged a protest in Jammu today criticizing the exclusion of Hindi posts in the recently referred 575 lecturer vacancies by the government to the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Randhawa issued a stern warning to the Omar Abdullah-led government, stating that if the government does not advertise lecturer positions for Hindi and Sanskrit postgraduates, widespread protests would erupt in Jammu.

The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department recently referred 575 lecturer positions to the PSC for direct recruitment, but failed to include Hindi and Sanskrit subjects among them.

Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Randhawa expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s preference for Urdu speakers, while sidelining qualified Hindi and Sanskrit postgraduates.

“I call on the Omar-led government to immediately advertise the plus-two lecturer positions for qualified Hindi and Sanskrit PGs. If this is not done, Jammu will witness massive protests,” he warned.

The BJP MLA also pointed out that while the government recently advertised 575 lecturer posts, none were designated for Hindi and Sanskrit postgraduates. “This is unacceptable. If the government fails to act, all 28 BJP MLAs will take to the streets of Jammu,” Randhawa added.

In the meantime, a large group of individuals took to the streets in Jammu, protesting the government’s exclusion of Hindi and Sanskrit PGs in the latest PSC recruitment advertisement.(NVI)
