Viper snake spotted near Omar Abdullah’s official residence in Srinagar
A venomous snake was spotted near the official residence of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah, reports said on Saturday.
Quoting official sources, local news agency reported that a team from the wildlife department was deputed to the spot which caught the snake.
“A Wildlife SOS team in Srinagar rescued the highly dangerous snake, spotted at Omar Abdullah’s residence on May 9 and it was released in Dachigam,” said a source, according to GNS.
“The Viper, locally called ‘Gunas’ is extremely venomous,” it said, adding, “The snake was rescued by Aliya Mir.”
The Levantine Viper is usually inactive during daytime, but quite alert and apt to attack swiftly, a wildlife official said.
