Bandipora Woman Dies After Sustaining Injuries in Srinagar Sunday Market Grenade Attack
Srinagar, Nov 12: A woman from the Bandipora district has succumbed to her injuries nine days after being wounded in a grenade attack at Srinagar’s weekly Sunday market.
Abida, 45, wife of Zubair Ahmad Lone from Sumbal, Bandipora, passed away on Tuesday in a Srinagar hospital, according to local sources. She was one of 12 civilians injured when a grenade was thrown into the crowded Sunday market on November 3.
The attack, which struck one of Srinagar’s busiest commercial areas, caused panic and left several people with injuries, including Abida, who suffered critical wounds. Despite intensive medical efforts, she could not recover and passed away after more than a week of treatment.
