Srinagar, Sep 09  : Senior PDP leader and the party’s candidate for Wagoora-Kreeri in the upcoming assembly elections, Syed Basharat Bukhari, on Monday commented on the NC-Congress alliance, describing it as purely a seat-sharing arrangement. He pointed out that, while National Conference (NC) has been outspoken on the issue of Article 370, the Congress party has chosen to remain silent on the matter.”The alliance is only about sharing seats, and where they can’t reach an agreement, they call it a ‘friendly contest’,” Bukhari said, questioning the Congress’s silence regarding Article 370.

Speaking on the electoral process and delimitation, Bukhari emphasized that while candidates may not always be aware of the final results, “it is ultimately the people, by the grace of Almighty Allah, who choose their leaders.”

Confident in his own campaign, Bukhari asserted, “I am here to win, and my focus is on serving the people, not simply defeating others.”

When asked about the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP), Bukhari stated he was unfamiliar with their stance but acknowledged they have been campaigning on the promise of releasing Er Rashid.
