Health Issues Force Ghulam Nabi Azad to Withdraw from Campaigning for DPAP Candidates
Srinagar, August 28 : Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad has announced that he will not be able to campaign for his party’s candidates in the upcoming assembly elections, citing health concerns. Azad, a veteran politician and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, revealed that he experienced acute chest pain on the night of August 25 while in Srinagar. The following morning, he immediately flew to Delhi and was admitted to AIIMS hospital, where he remained under observation for two days.
Although doctors have assured him that there is no immediate danger, Azad shared that he is dealing with other health issues that require medication and rest. These unexpected circumstances have led him to step back from the campaign trail, a decision he deeply regrets, especially during such a crucial time for his party.
Azad also urged his party colleagues, who have filed their nominations, to carefully consider whether they can continue their campaigns in his absence. He has given them the option to withdraw their candidacy if they believe his absence would significantly affect their chances of success.
Azad’s withdrawal from the campaign is expected to be a significant setback for DPAP, given his extensive experience and influence in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape. His leadership has been a cornerstone of the party, and his absence may impact the party’s performance in the upcoming elections.
