Assembly Polls: Former member of banned JeI among 11 candidates file nomination papers for 40-Devsar AC
Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done tomorrow; 127 polling stations have been established in Devsar AC; Over 1.12 Lakh electorates set to excercise their right to franchise on Sep 18, says official
Kulgam,August, 27:A total of 11 candidates have submitted nomination papers for Devsar assembly constituency which falls in phase 1 of Assembly election which will go to polls on Sep 18, officials said on Tuesday.
“A total of 11 nomination papers have been received, scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done tomorrow and Aug 30 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations”, an official said.
The key candidates from the constituency are National Conference Leader Faroze Ahmad Shah, Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Leader, Mohd Sartaj Madni, Mohd Amin Bhat of DPAP, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat of Apni party, Amanullah Mantoo of Congress.
There are also candidates from smaller political parties and several independents including PhD Scholar Dr. Suhail Ahmad Bhat of Awami Itihad Party, and Sheikh Fida Hussain of AAP, Rameez Ahmad Dar (Independent), Abdul Rouf Naik (Independent) Dr Abdul Bari Naik (Independent) and Nazir Ahmad Bhat, former member of (JeI) independent.
In 40-Devsar AC there are 112381 voters including 56199 Male, 56175 female and 7 transgender and 127 polling stations have been established in Devsar AC.
Notably: The polling for the first phase of the electoral process is scheduled for September 18, 2024. Polling will be conducted from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the scheduled day.
