Srinagar, Aug 21: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, has arrived in Srinagar amidst enthusiastic celebrations by party supporters at Lal Chowk, who sang traditional Kashmiri songs to welcome their leaders.
The leaders are expected to engage with party workers before departing for Jammu tomorrow afternoon. According to sources, Gandhi and Kharge are likely to hold discussions with opposition leaders, including Farooq Abdullah, on forming a joint pre-poll alliance during their visit.
Additionally, several leaders are expected to join the Congress party in the next 24 hours, with Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge set to welcome them. Meetings with Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are also anticipated as part of the discussions on the pre-poll alliance.
