Kupwara Police Arrest Two, Seize Large Quantity of Alcohol in Kalaroos

Kupwara, Aug 21: In a successful operation, Kupwara Police, in collaboration with Police Post Kalaroos, intercepted a vehicle and seized a significant quantity of illicit alcohol. The joint naka was set up at Madmadow Kalaroos, where a vehicle with registration number JK09B 6808 was stopped for inspection.

The vehicle was driven by Mohd Abass Khan, a resident of Parraypora Kalaroos, who was accompanied by his wife, Mahfooza Begum. Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered 166 bottles of wine and 12 bottles of beer.

Both individuals have been arrested, and the vehicle has been seized. A case has been registered under FIR No. 184/24, U/S 50 of the Excise Act at Police Station Kupwara.
