37th National Games at Goa: Shugufta Mehraj from Srinagar wins Gold Medal

Srinagar: Shugufta Mehraj from Srinagar City in Kashmir valley bagged Gold Medal for the UT of Jammu and Kashmir during the 37th National Games held at Goa.

Talking to the media, Shugufta said that, “Sqay Martial Arts is the ingenious Martial Arts of Kashmir, its roots belong purely to the land of Kashmir. I’ve been playing and winning laurels in it, since childhood”.

She further said that: “I’ve won many championships, but wining at THE NATIONAL GAMES 2023 has been one of the best Victories of mine.”

“Thanks to my Coach, Grand Master Mir Nazir Sir, as it is surely because of him that I’m capable of doing whatever I’m today. I’m a Deputy Grand Master Degree holder in Sqay Martial Arts and also a Coach to hundreds of budding Players,” Shugufta Mehraj said.

She added that: “I’ve trained many players including Black belts at my Martial Arts Club, Bismillah Club located at downtown Srinagar, and looking forward to help many more to achieve their dreams along with accomplishing my own”.
