Anantnag: Rampant violations of the transfer policy are continuing unabated in District Anantnag, as numerous government employees in various departments have been overstaying their positions for decades.

Official sources reveal that employees in several departments have remained in the same posts for many years without being transferred, which directly contravenes the transfer policy. According to this policy, government employees are supposed to spend a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years in one post.

In clear defiance of this policy, several government employees in District Anantnag, particularly in departments such as ICDS, Social Welfare, RDD, Animal Husbandry, and Education, have remained in the same positions for an extended period without any transfers. This violation of the transfer policy has gone unnoticed or unaddressed by the relevant authorities.

Despite the government’s stated commitment to transparency and accountability in public administration, the ground reality paints a different picture. It appears that the actual enforcement of these policies is lacking. The primary purpose of transfers should be to enhance administrative efficiency, improve the work culture, and ensure a people-friendly approach, but these goals seem to be unmet in practice, as per sources.
