LS Polls: Clashes erupt in Kulgam, security forces fire pellets on protestors
Four people were injured after security forces on Monday fired pellets on protestors in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, where polling for phase four is underway for the Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency. In Phase 4, only Kulgam district of Anantnag PC is going for polls.
Reports said that scores of the people, especially youth assembled in Kujar Kulgam and clashed with security forces deployed for polling duty , forces retaliated by using tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protestors resulting in injuries to four youth.
The injured youth were identified as Khalif Ahmad son of Basir Ahmad a resident of Monghall, Waseem Ahmad son of Ghulam Ahmad, Zahid Ahmad son of Mohamad Shafi and Shakir Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad all residents of Kujar area of Frisal in Kulgam.
According to sources the injured were taken to Anantnag hospital and two of them were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.”Clashes were going on when this report was filed.
