Tributes pour in over the killing of Police, Army officers in Anantnag

Pulwama: Tributes poured in from various political leaders over the killing of two army officers and a police officer during an operation at Kokernag area of Anantnag district on Wednesday.
The trio, including Commanding Officer (CO) of Army, Col Manpreet Singh, Army Major, Aashish Dhonchak, and DySP of J&K Police, Humayun Bhat lost their lives during the operation at Kokernag area.
Among other Political leaders of Jammu & Kashmir, Former CM J&K, Mehbooba Mufti said that, “My deepest condolences to the families of those who were killed in the line of duty at Anantnag today. There is no place for such abominable acts of violence.”
Expressing grief over the killing, BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur said that, he pay glorious tributes to bravehearts Col Manpreet Singh, Maj Aashish Dhonchak, and DySP Humayun Bhat, son of Retired IG Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Tral, for laying down the lives for the country.
“Our security forces are committee to root out terror from JK soil and those behind the killing of today’s heroes won’t be spared,” Thakur said.
Similarly, Congress Leader & IYC Joint Secretary, Manpreet Singh, PDP spokesman, Dr Harbakash Singh, BJP leader, Avtar Singh, Congress Leader SS Channi, MC Tral Councillor, Tahir Zargar & others have also expressed grief over the killing of Police, Army officers.
“I pay heartfelt tributes to bravehearts Col Manpreet Singh, Maj Aashish Dhonchak, and DSP Humayun Bhat, son of Police Officer (Rt.) Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Tral who laid their lives for the country. My deepest condolences to the families,” Manpreet Singh, Joint Secretary, Youth Congress said.
“It’s shocking to hear the news about the killing of Army Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Aashish Dhonchak, and DySP Humayun Bhat, son of Retired IGP, Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Tral who laid their lives for the country. I express my deepest condolences and sympathies with the Bhat family of Tral,” PDP spokesman Dr Harbakash Singh.
“Deeply shocked about the martyrdom of DSP Himayun Bhat, C.O 19RR Manpreet Singh and Major Ashish Dhonack, martyred in Kokernag encounter today. Heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the families. RIP,” BJP leader Avtar Singh posted on Facebook.
“I pay tribute to Dy.SP Himayun Muzammil Bhat, son of Retired IGP Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Tral town, who sacrificed his life for the country. I also express my condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family, said Tahir Mansoor Zargar, Councillor MC Tral.
