ADC Tral imposes Rs 7.25 lac penalty in food safety cases

TRAL, 31 August: The Additional District Magistrate Tral (ADM) (AO IN FSS) Saajid Yehaya Naquash imposed a penalty of Rs 7,25,000 in 06 cases of Misbranded/ Sub-Standard of food items today under provisions of Sec 51 & 52 Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

The Sample were lifted in Tral market including Food Supplement, Simlac, Protein Powder, Tea, Mong Dal etc by Food safety Officer Tral. Food safety Officer Tral, Shabir Ahmad represented FSS department.

As many as 25 accused were involved in the cases. Penalty of Rs 7.25 lacs have been imposed to all the accused and Rs 1.35 lacs have been recovered on time and subsequently deposited in Treasury office Tral under head 0210.
