J&K police bags 76 medals on Independence Day, 2nd highest among all

Srinagar, Aug 14 : Jammu and Kashmir have bagged the second-highest number of police medals at 76 on the occasion of Independence Day.An official said that J&K Police has received 76 medals thus sharing the 2nd place with Maharashtra for highest medal tally.

He said that among these 55 officers and jawans were conferred with Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), one President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM-DS) and 20 Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS).

Meanwhile, DGP J&K Dilbag Singh has congratulated the awardees & their families.

He expressed his gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Lt Governor Sh Manoj Sinha, officers of MHA & Home Department for honouring the valour and professionalism of J&K Police personnel.
