CIED-IUST Foundation Hosts Workshop on “Innovation and Start-up Ecosystem in J&K”
Awantipora: A workshop on ‘Innovation and Start-up Ecosystem in J&K’ was organized by Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED), Islamic University of Science and Technology.
Mr. Sheikh Samiullah (Co-founder & CEO of FastBeetle), Mr. Shah Ubair (Co-founder of efruitmandi) and Mr. Muheet Mehraj (Co-founder & CEO of Kashmir Box) interacted with the participants.
The program chaired by Mr. Sameer Wazir, Finance Officer IUST, and coordinated by Dr. Parvez A. Mir, CEO of CIED-IUST Foundation drew notable participation from the students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and innovators.
The speakers shared their valuable insights during the workshop. Mr. Samiullah shared the experience of establishing FastBeetle, and discussed strategic adoption approaches tailored to the region’s unique demographic conditions. Mr. Shah Ubair spoke about the real-world intricacies of running a business, particularly addressing challenges such as fundraising etc. Mr. Muheet Mehraj, through his presentation, discussed about potential business opportunities and investment strategies that hold promise for budding entrepreneurs.
Mr. Sameer Wazir provided a comprehensive overview of the current innovation and startup scenario in the region, highlighting the key variables and factors at play. Dr. Parvez A. Mir, in his address, underscored the significance of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among students, encouraging them to become job providers. He emphasized the transformative power of innovation and entrepreneurship in shaping not only individual futures but also contributing towards societal progress.
