02 drug peddlers arrested in Budgam;Psychotropic substance recovered, vehicle seized

Budgam, 25th June 2023: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.

During Naka checking at Humhama Chowk , Police party of Police Post Humhama intercepted one vehicle load carrier @ Chota Hathi bearing registration No. JK04G-6063 with one person on board. Upon questioning, the driver disclosed his identity as Ishfaq Ahmad Khan @ Muna S/O Abdul Rahman Khan R/O Sheikhpora. During search of the vehicle as well as driver, controlled drug 10 Bottles of Codeine( 100ml each ) and Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus (61 Capsules) were recovered. The driver has been arrested on spot and vehicle used for the commission of crime has also been seized.

Similarly, Police Station Chadoora during naka Checking at Panzan found one person roaming in suspicious conditions, he was intercepted, during search seven sticks of Charas like contraband substance covered with maize cob leaves weighing about 140 gms was recovered from his possession. He was arrested on spot and subsequently identified as Nissar Ahmad Sheirgojri S/O Gulam Hassan Sheirgojri R/O Panzan Chadoora .

Case FIR numbers 175/2023 and 115/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and Police Station Chadoora respectively and investigation taken up.
