Anantnag: Commuters are having a tough time getting to and from the Wanihama Nowgam road in the south Kashmir Anantnag District due to its dilapidated condition.
According to locals, the road is a vital link connecting dozens of villages with Anantnag.
“It is dotted with potholes, which speaks volumes about the government’s claim of improving road connectivity,” the residents complained.
As speaking with Arising State, they said that despite connecting important places like Achabal, Kokernag, and other villages with the rest of the district, the authorities have been taking this road for granted.
There have been several years since the road has been macadamized and they claim that potholes are causing them suffering.
Residents say they have approached the authorities several times to request macadamization of the road, but nothing has happened.
As much as possible, we would like to bring it to the attention of the concerned authorities so that the road can be improved at the earliest possible so that we will not have to suffer anymore, they stated.
