Bijbehara girl wins first place in National Children’s Science Congress 2022 at Srinagar, invents peel crusher bin

Anantnag: During a National Children’s Science Congress held at SKAUST on Monday, a 7th grade student from Arwani Bijbehara of southern Kashmir’s Anantnag district took top honors.

Hundreds of children from Jammu and Kashmir participated in the program held by SKAUST Srinagar.

Seerat Javaid, a class seven student, invented a peel crusher bin for crushing vegetables and other objects which turns them into fertilizer. The girl won first prize and was selected to work in the Gujrat on this project.

The National Children’s Science Congress fosters creativity and innovation in children, in particular, to solve a societal problem experienced locally using scientific methods. Children between 10 and 17 years old from all backgrounds participating, both in and out of the school system, belonging to a variety of ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural groups across the country, including children with disabilities can participate in the programme.
