Resignation of President before presidential elections part of party’s electoral process: Nasir Aslam Wani
Srinagar, Nov 18 : Provincial President of National Conference, Nasir Aslam Wani said that the resignation of the NC President before the presidential elections is part of the party’s electoral process.
Speaking to KNS Nasir said that the resignation of Farooq Abdullah as NC chief is not due to personal or any health issues. “The current president resigns before the election so that other people in the party can nominate their papers for the position which is part of the National Conference’s electoral process”, he said.
He said that presidential elections were held every two years but now they have decided that its term will be kept for five years.
When asked about electing the new president, he said that the elections would be held within a month in which any party worker could be elected for this post. (KNS)
