Advanced Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery Performed at Ankur Maitrika Hospital
In a case of advanced laparoscopic stomach cancer surgery performed at Ankur Maitrika hospital, Dr. Sandeep Bhat, a well-known laparoscopic and gastrointestinal cancer surgeon operated on a 73-year-old patient with hypertension, emphysema, and hypothyroidism. In the patient with a negative blood type, a stomach tumor was found in the distal part.
There was no evidence of local advanced or metastatic disease on the CT scan when the patient was investigated and evaluated.
The patient was planned for laparoscopic Partial Gastrectomy ( removal of half of stomach with nodal dissection ), an advanced and a complicated cancer surgery which was further accentuated by the associated comorbidities. The surgery was performed successfully and patient was discharged on 6th post operative day. The surgical team comprised of Dr Sandeep Bhat, Devinder, Ranjeet and other OT staff.
Dr Rohit Gupta, a senior anaesthetist and intensivist at the hospital, headed the anaesthesia team.
