Drug peddler arrested in Budgam; contraband substance recovered

SEPTEMBER 08: Continuing its efforts to rein in the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered a contraband substance from his possession.

During Naka checking near Govt.Degree College Pallar Budgam, police party of police station Budgam intercepted one person in suspicious condition, upon seeing police party he tried to flee from thevspot but he was apprehended tactfully. During his personal search 85 grams of charas like substance and apparently 3.5 Grams Heroin was recovered from his possession.
The arrested drug peddler has been identified as- Altaf Ahmed Latoo son of Mohammad Amin Latoo resident of Dafpora Budgam.

Case FIR number 317/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Budgam & investigation taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
