SHRC notice to govt on shifting JKLF chief from Jammu to Srinagar jail
Srinagar: State Human Rights Commission on Wednesday sought response from government on a petition, seeking shifting of JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik from Jammu’s Kotbalwal jail to Srinagar jail. In this regard, SHRC chairperson Justice (Retd) Bilal Nazki issued notice to Commissioner Secretary Home Department for detailed report regarding shifting Malik from Kotbalwal jail. Malik was booked under PSA and shifted to Kotbalwal Jail.
“JKLF chairman is a well known political worker and is renowned personality throughout the world and known for pleading the cause of the people of Kashmir with peaceful means Malik is also working for amicable settlement of the state of Jammu and Kashmir which is internationally long pending recognized dispute in the world,” reads a petition filed by International Forum for Justice Human Rights JK through its chairman Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo.
