Budgam Police arrests 02 drug peddlers, contraband substance recovered

JUNE 17: Continuing its efforts to rein in the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 02 drug peddlers & recovered contraband substance from their possession.

During routine patrolling at Kawoosa Khalisa, police party of Police post Narbal intercepted 02 persons in suspicious condition,when police party signalled them to stop they tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended them tactfully. During their search, apparently 05 Grams of Heroin & 240 Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus capsules (controlled drug) was recovered from their possession. The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as:-
1.Asif Nazir Rather son of Nazir Ahmed Rather resident of Archanderhama. *2. Jehangir Ahmed Marazi son of Mohammad Sultan Mazrazi resident of Lawaypora Srinagar

A Case FIR number 85/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Magam & investigation taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
