SSP Budgam felicitated Ms Adeela Shafiq “A woman National Champion in Powerlifting”
JUNE 10: In order to boost the morale of a woman national Champion in Powerlifting and to encourage sports activities among the youth of district Budgam, Police in Budgam today felicitated the Powerlifting Champion Ms Adeela Shafiq daughter of Khan Shafiq resident of Govt. Housing Colony Ompora Budgam for winning gold, silver and bronze medals in various Powerlifting competitions at national level. SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS congratulated the powerlifting champion for her feat and her tremendous performance in numerous District, State and National level Women’s Powerlifting Championships.
Ms Adeela got selected in the month of April 2022 for national Powerlifting Championship at Allepy Kerela where she secured 1 Gold, 2 silver and 1 Bronze medals for J&K. Further she got the Government seat for MTech at Gcet Jammu where she is pursuing her M-Tech.
At District Police Headquarters Budgam, SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS accompanied by DySP Hqrs Budgam Shri Naeem Wani-JKPS, DySP DAR DPL Budgam Shri Owaise Rashid-JKPS and other officers of Budgam Police during his remarks appreciated the woman powerlifting champion and said that her success would inspire other women for getting actively involved in sports activities. SSP Budgam also lauded her contribution for bringing positive changes in society and added that it is important that girls/women get involved in sports/well being activities for betterment of the society which would be an important step towards women empowerment. Later, SSP Budgam presented mementos and appreciation letter to the woman powerlifting champion as a token of appreciation.
