 Jammu: Congress today sought the registration of FIR against the Chief Minister of Punjab Shri Bhagwant Singh Maan for the deliberate withdrawal of security cover to the famous singer and Congress leader Shri Sidhu Moosewala leading to his assassination by the gunmen, the very next day of the withdrawal of security.Addressing a press conference at party headquarters here today, JKPCC Chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir alongwith Senior Congress leaders  including Working President Shri Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries Yogesh Sawhney and Manmohan Singh, Treasurer Rajnesh Sharma, OBC Chairman Suresh Dogra, PCC Spokesperson Sahil Sharma and incharge ST Department  Hussain Ali Wafa came down heavily on the AAP Government in Punjab for the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab and reckless handling of the governance as a result of which a famous singer and prominent Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala was killed in brought day light due to withdrawal of adequate security.

Lodging strong protest over the politics of vendetta and cheep publicity stunt by the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan over the sensitive issue of security to the prominent personalities and opposition leaders exposing them to the designs of anti social and anti national elements, JKPCC Chief said that FIR should be registered against the Chief Minister and others responsible for withdrawal of security to Shri Sidhu leading to his murder. The Chief Minister should be asked to step down. Rich tributes were paid to the slain leader and prayers were held for peace to the departed soul.

Shri Mir said that there should be no compromise in the matter of security to all prominent leaders and other vulnerable persons in the sensitive states like Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir where they are targets of anti national and anti social elements, but the respective governments are not sensitive in the matter of security of opposition leaders, despite targeted attacks.

Hitting out at the Modi Government for its failure on various fronts during the last eight years of rule at the centre, JKPCC Chief referred to the various  failures of the Modi Government, especially in the matter of large scale unemployment, unprecedented price hike, tax terrorism, distress among farmers, besides overall law and order situation in the country.

Shri Mir said that Modi Government had promised two crore jobs per year to the unemployed youths but instead the unemployment rate is 7.9 percent in the country while 45 crore job seekers have lost the hope of jobs which is a very dismal situation for the youth and other work force.

On the issue of unprecedented price hike, Shri Mir said that the prices of all commodities of common use have gone double or more than that in 8 years beyond the reach of common man. He said that on Petrol and Diesel alone the Modi Government has earned around Rs. 27.50 lakh crores. He said that in April 2022, the whole sale price hike was 15.08 percent which is highest in last 30 years.

On the economic front, Mir said that the economic situation is worst. The GDP growth during Congress regime from year 2004 to 2014 was around 8.36 percent average as compare to 4.75 percent during BJP regime from year 2014 to 2020-21. The Indian rupee value is weakest in 75 years which is Rs. 77.81 as compare to one USD. He said that during 67 years post independence, all governments took 55 lakh crore loan whereas Modi government took 80 lakh crore loan in 8 years. Modi Government on and average is taking debt of rupees four thousand crore per day as a result there is debt of rupees one lakh on the head of every Indian today.

Mr. Mir said that the Modi Government has waived off the loans of rupees eleven lakh crore of big capitalists and there were banking frauds to the tune of Rs. 5.35 thousand crores under Modi Government in 8 years.

He said that the farmers were promised double the income by 2032 but they are in great economic distress and after more than one year of struggle there issues of MSP guarantee has not been resolved which shows the anti farmers approach of the Modi government.

He said that there is growing atmosphere of conflict and division in the country between communities which is creating disharmony in weakening the principle of Unity in Diversity. He said that there were 3400 incidents of communal clash in the country from 2016 to 2020 which is a worrisome situation.

JKPCC Chief said that a ‘Nav  Sankalp Shivar’ is being  held at Patnitop starting from  tomorrow on 31st May, 2022 till 02nd June, 2022 to discuss the issues of the people faced by them in Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders from both the regions will arrive tomorrow and the formal inauguration will be held on 1st June, 2022, where top leaders of J&K and Senior leaders from AICC will participate and deliberate upon the current situation.
