Police destroys Poppy Cultivation in Budgam

May 18: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police along with civil authorities destroyed poppy cultivation in Khansahab area of Budagm.

A police party from Police Station Khansahib alongwith Naib Tehsildar Parnewa and Revenue officials destroyed illegal poppy cultivation spread over 7 kanals of land in several villages falling under jurisdiction of Khansahib area of Budgam.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 65/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khansahib and further investigation initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt strictly under law.
