7 teen age kids of a family hospitalized after drinking poisonous water at Gadool Kokernag

Anantnag: A family’s seven children were hospitalized after their uncle allegedly put poison in water in the itchoo Gadole Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag District.

Sources told Arising state that the children of a family aged 11, 15, 7, 6, 5, 9, 8 had gone to a nearby forest area with their uncle, however, after they returned, all of them fell ill. The family of the minor children alleged their uncle poisoned the six. ‘Apparently, he mixed poison into the water container the children drank. According to sources, the father of the children claimed all this was due to a property dispute.

While talking to Arising state, the medical superintendent of MCCH hospital Anantnag said that six of the victims were admitted to MCCH hospital Anantnag after they suspected they had consumed poison.” Now that the stomachs have been cleaned, they are all stable and no longer at risk.”

The police official told Arising state, “we have started an investigation, but it is too early to draw any conclusions.. The water has been sent to the FSL for testing”.
