Govt. Degree College Tral Celebrates International Mother’s Day
Tral: Government Degree College Tral on Monday celebrated International Mother’s Day under the aegis of the Women Development Cell of the college.
The special day was celebrated by organising a seminar in which different aspects of mother and motherhood were discussed.
The programme was initiated by Dr. Arsheed Ahmad Malik who in his unique style navigated the place of mother in Kashmiri and Urdu literatures.
The speakers and students were welcomed by the convener of Women Development Cell, Prof. Laila Khalid. While extending her greetings on the International Mother’s Day to all mothers and educators, she urged upon the need to celebrate such days in the present cut throat competitive and stressful world, so that we don’t forget the struggle and pain that our mothers face while bringing us up.
The programme was inaugurated by the worthy Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Farooq Mir. In his address, he quoted some real life examples in which mothers sacrificed their whole life in shaping the future of their kids.
He also reiterated that mothers must be given the honour, respect and care which all religions and all constitutions have guaranteed to them and make efforts to fulfil their dreams.
In the technical session, four speakers-Dr. Umandeep Kour, Ms. Muneeza from 2nd semester , Prof. Feroza Akhtar and Prof. Ishaq Ahmad Wani threw light on different attributes of mothers as a mark of respect.
They also in their speeches and poems tried to convey gratitude to mothers for their unconditional land unflinching love. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Fahmida Wani (HOD History).
