Authorities disallow Shab-e-Qadr prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar
Srinagar, Apr 27 : No Shab-e-Qadr prayers will be held at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar on Thursday.
The development came in the backdrop of recent incident when some youth had raised objectionable slogans during Friday congregational prayers.
“Authorities have disallowed the nightlong prayers of Shab-e-Qadr at Jamia Masjid. We were conveyed this by the officials today evening,” said Haji Muhammad Altaf, General Secretary Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid and Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon said.
Earlier, the Auqaf had announced that Isha prayers will be offered on Shab-e-Qadr at 10:30 pm.
Notably, thirteen youth were arrested after anti-national slogans were raised recently inside the Masjid.
