Police constable killed in brief shootout in Soura: Police

Srinagar, Mar 22 : A policeman was killed during a brief shootout in Soura area of Srinagar on Tuesday afternoon.

An official said the police constable was injured during a brief shootout between militants and security forces in Soura area.

He said that the injured cop was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased cop has been identified as SgCT Amir Hussain Lone of Kupwara.

“In a brief shootout at #Soura area of Srinagar City, SgCT Amir Hussain Lone R/O Kupwara got injured & attained #martyrdom. We pay rich tributes to the #martyr & stand by his family at this critical juncture,” police said in a Tweet.
