Police say foreign militant killed in Hazratbal brief shootout, two flee; ‘Two local LeT militants killed in Pulwama encounter’
Srinagar, Mar 10 : Three militants were killed in two separate encounters in Srinagar and Pulwama districts on Thursday, police said here.
An official said that two militants of LeT outfit were killed in an encounter in Naina Batapora village of Pulwama today.
He said that the militants were holed up a structure besides a mosque in the village.
Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that security forces took every precautionary measure to ensure no damage is done to the mosque.
He said that both the militants were neutralised lates and they were affiliated with LeT militant outfit.
Meanwhile, a militant was killed in a brief shootout in Hazratbal area of Srinagar today afternoon.
An official said that two other militants accompanying the slain militant managed to flee from the spot.
Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar identified the slain militant identified as Manzoor alias Haider alias Hamza, a Pakistani national, affiliated with proscribed LeT/TRF outfit.
He said that he was associate of top LeT/TRF commander Mehran and his killing is a big success.
